Bathroom Remodeling – Rearrange Your Bath to Better Your Needs and Update Your Home

Bathroom Remodeling and Rearranging – Before and After

Remodeling a bathroom through rearranging or replacing fixtures improves the usability, flow, and feel of an out-of-date or cramped bathroom. It allows you to change the layout of your bath without having to expand the footprint.

This bath remodel replaces a traditional shower and tub combination with a modern walk-in shower.

The wall separating the shower from the window was partially replaced with glass. This makes the bathroom feel larger and allows more light to enter the shower and the rest of the room.

The 3/4 wall of square white ceramic tile in the old design was replaced with modern glass tile. The new glass tile creates a waterfall effect and extends to the ceiling.

The tub was removed and replaced with a floor of river stone. In combination with the waterfall glass tile, sand-colored ceiling and lower-wall tile, and additional light, the bathroom increases the feeling of “bringing the outdoors in.”

The traditional single showerhead (not visible in photo) was replaced with dual showerheads: a fixed square head and a removable handheld head. The water temperature is controlled via an electronic pad which allows for customized settings and helps conserve water.

The yellow walls and white trim were replaced with ecru-colored walls that complement the stone tile floor and red-stained wood trim.

On the sink side of the bathroom, the standard wood door (not visible in picture) was replaced by an opaque glass and steel door. This door lets yet more light into the room while affording privacy.

A small mirrored medicine chest was replaced with built-in cabinets and drawers for storage and a larger, frameless mirror.

The radiator heating was replaced with in-floor heating, allowing for additional cabinetry.

The traditional pedestal sink was replaced with a deep, wide, under-mounted sink in a granite countertop. The additional counter space is especially useful when preparing for work or a night out.

The overall effect of the bathroom remodel is that the room feels more open, has a great sense of the outdoors, and feels more modern.
